Zuton love shock

I can't explain it. I just love the Zutons. Perhaps it's a scouse thing. I'm glad they must now be rolling in it because of the Amy Winehouse cover of Valerie (I'd be happy to never actually hear that again mind). Their brill new single Always right behind you

They may be nice scousers - but there is simply no excuse for a saxophone in music - as proved by Spandau Ballet. Did the sax break in Careless Whisper make it sexy - I think not. Don't go citing Gerry Rafferty's Baker St neither, it's not big nor clever and you'll just end up making a fool of yourself. Sax is the medium of Reggae-Jazz. It is played by Bill Clinton and ruined Ska (which otherwise would have been punk). So no, the Zutons are nearly good and Abi should take up the triangle, recorder, kazoo or something/anything else. Can't beleive they've been allowed to make three albums. Did you notice, how by simply covering "Valerie" with Amy Winehouse, that Mick Ronson got a sax-ually transmitted disease? How awful was his saxophone strewn abomination of a cover of Radiohead's "Just" - Just say No.

I wouldn't dream of citing Gerry Rafferty. Under any circumstances. And you are right about the Saxophone. Saxsaxsax. Definitely the number of the beast. You can test the metal of a truly great song by seeing if it can withstand a sax solo. I'm thinking Never let her slip away by Andrew Gold and Close to me by the Cure. Still good. But only just. But you know Abi can't really play the sax, so only a matter of time before it is discarded or, er, robbed.
